Merrick Pet Care Treats Recall

I must confess I saw this first on The Pet Haven. Then I googled and found this. It seems that people are in danger of getting Salmonella from handling these treats.

This is from the FDA statement:
The U. S. Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to use Merrick Beef Filet Squares for dogs distributed by Merrick Pet Care with a package date of “Best By 111911” because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella.

I'm beginning to think I need to keep disposable gloves in my kitchen so I never have to touch anything, not! What effect does it have on dogs? I've started buying one brand of cat food from the vet's office. The stuff in the grocery stores is loaded with fillers and sodium.

I'm still doing the best dog food from Wally world, the option is he eats soft or doesn't eat. Organic? $15 a pound dry food, forget it, have you ever seen a dog sneer?, but he LOVES wal mart cheap dog food which he doesn't get.

Wow...I have bought Merrick food for my dogs in the past...It is expensive...Makes me wonder if any dog food is safe.

I don't know Bo, I was thinking about it and if you go that route you might have to start thinking the pop tarts are contaminated and we CAN NOT think that!
Your soup is to die for in your last post, nice photography.
